Merridawn Duckler is a poet, playwright, and performance artist. Her recent poetry has been published or is forthcoming in TAB: Journal of Poetry and Poetics, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Zone 3, The Psychoanalytic Review, The Offing, Rivet, Really System, and others. She was the runner-up for a poetry residency at the Arizona Poetry Center, judged by Farid Matuk. Recent prose appears in Poetica and humor in Defenestration. She was the finalist for the 2016 Sozoplo Fiction Fellowship. As an NEA grant recipient, Duckler had work performed at the REDCAT in the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex, as well as in Arizona, New York, Oregon, Washington, and Valdez, Alaska. Her play in verse was staged for the Emerging Female Playwrights’ Festival of the Manhattan Shakespeare Project. Duckler was an Oregon Play Prize semi-finalist and is a member of the Blackfish Gallery. Fellowships/awards include Best Creative Non-Fiction Anthology; Pushcart Prize nomination; Writers@Work; Yaddo; Squaw Valley; SLS in St. Petersburg, Russia; Southampton Poetry Conference with Billy Collins; and others. She’s an editor for Narrative and the international philosophy journal, Evental Aesthetics.
